It has been just a short time since Whitney has passed, but as of this afternoon, the legendary singer has been laid to rest.
We're happy to hear that it was a peaceful, private occasion.
We were lucky to be able to see and be a part of the highly-publicized and emotional funeral service, even if it was just as spectators.
She was buried next to her father, who passed in 2003, while fans lined the streets around the cemetery. They threw rose petals and screamed for her as he hearse passed.
There was nowhere near the amount of people at the burial as at the funeral. It was intimate.
We are so sorry for her friends and family, and we miss her. The world has lost a legend, and today is both a sad and respectful day.
We hope you've found peace, Whitney.

Madonna wasn't one of the many celebs who were invited to Whitney Houston's funeral, but that didn't stop her from remembering the late singer.
On Friday night Madonna, went to a place called Mister H in the Mondrian Soho hotel, where she showed up with a large group of her background dancers.
This is what happened:
"Madonna was sitting down, watching as her dancers showed up their skills. When the DJ began to spin Whitney Houston's 'I Wanna Dance with Somebody,' Madonna perked up and started lip-synching the words."
She then noticed that her private area was cutting off a lot of the dance floor for everyone else... so she told her security crew to make the space smaller so everyone could dance!
Wonderful!
Madonna! Give us a call and we'll come dance the night away with you!
Ha!

Oh no. Please don't tell us there's another Conrad Murray running around. We don't think we can stomach that.
Yesterday, we reported the news that Whitney Houston's doctors were being interviewed by investigators to determine what kinds of medication the singer was on prior to her death. Now, subpoenas have been distributed to her doctors as well as her pharmacists to obtain deceased Whitney's medical and drug records.
Assistant chief coroner Ed Winter assured the press that this was standard procedure in a case such as this and at the moment, there is no reason to suspect that any of these physicians played any part the death of the diva. The cause of death still widely is considered the mixture of alcohol and prescription pills.
We're just hoping some real closure for her family soon. All tis speculation and investigation must be tearing them apart, most especially her mother and daughter.
We continue to offer our condolences to her family, friends and fans who are feeling this loss.

Whitney Houston was busy right before she passed away.
We're hearing from The Insider that the singer was approving the final look of a photo shoot for her new candle line right before she died.
According to a source in her entourage, Whitney looked at the layout of the shoot (which was shot just down the hall), approved it, then had a few members of her entourage to run some last minute errands. Houston then went down the hallway to take a bath.
Then, what we've heard (and others have heard), has lead us to believe that Whitney was fully in the tub when her Aunt Mary Jones found her.
That isn't the case according to the source -- she never made it into the tub. Allegedly she was getting in when she collapsed and was found half in and half out of the tub.
Well, whatever happened, all we know for sure is that it was tragic. We had been hoping for a major comeback -- never this.
Our heart goes out to her family and loved ones!

There is still so much we don't know - but some of it we are afraid to know for sure.
Following the death of Whitney Houston, investigators are following every available lead they have in figuring out what exactly led to Whitney's untimely demise. While many are hesitant to blame drugs on her death, the evidence is mounting in favor of an overdose. Police found bottles of six different types of prescription drugs in Houston's Beverly Hilton suite, including Xanax, which friends and family confirm Whitney was prescribed.
To understand better what kind of health Whitney is in, her doctors will allegedly be questioned and interviewed, so as to piece together who gave the singer what and if the mixture could have led to her death.
It's really so sad to think about the talent wasted. It's even sadder to think about how much more she could have given. She was still in the prime of her life.
At least we will always have her music, a powerful legacy to leave behind.

Dionne Warwick has taken sometime to mourn the loss of her cousin.
The singer canceled a western Pennsylvania show scheduled for Valentine's Day after Whitney Houston's death.
The new show is scheduled for March 2nd where previous ticket holders can still get a chance to see the show.
Our condolences continue to go to Whitney's family.

We're sure she isn't happy about it, and would much rather Whitney be alive, but Dolly Parton is poised to earn a lot of money off of the post-humous sales of I Will Always Love You.
Unfortunately, not much of anything will go to Whitney's estate, as she didn't write any of her own songs.
Here's what insiders are saying:
"She was broke -- her label gave her advances. And unlike Michael, you have to remember that Whitney didn't write any of those massive hits. They were songs that Clive Davis told her to sing and she did."
"On records, the typical mechanical royalty paid to the writer/publisher is about 8 cents per radio performance. That would all go to Dolly. Whitney is only the singer. She receives an advance from the record company based upon anticipated album sales. Figure that's around $2.00 per album. But all of the costs to record the album, promote the album, videos, etc. are all recouped from the artist's share."
"Whitney was living off of advances -- loans from the record company -- and had been [for] quite some time. Most likely the estate owes the record company a ton and future sales will be used to pay back that loan before any money goes to the estate. The songwriters, however, will make a bundle."
That's a major bummer, but completely understandable. We're sorry that she was in such financial distress, but that was the reality of it.
We're expecting to see major numbers from her older catalogue as well, so when those numbers are in we'll have a better idea of how much money is coming in due to her untimely passing!
We miss you, Whitney!

A proud Jersey girl will return home for one final goodbye.
According to reports, Whitney Houston will be laid to rest later this week at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, N.J., the place of her birth.
Those who knew here before the fame knew her best as a singer in the choir of the church, as she was raised in East Orange. It is expected that her body will be released to the family today, now that the autopsy is finished, and arrangements are being made to fly her back East immediately by her family.
Many say that she never forgot her humble Jersey roots and that laying her to rest in the place where she got her start is a fitting tribute to her legacy.
We agree. She'll be back in a place where the people who knew her best can pay the best tribute to her, celebrating her life in the place where it all began.
