Ha! Well, this is certainly an inneresting way to raise money!

The Congregration Beth Shalom, in Corona, cannot pay back a massive loan it took out, and has reached out to Mel Gibson to cover the costs - as a way to prove that he isn't Anti-Semitic!

The letter reads:

"Our proposal to you, Mr. Gibson, is since you have been cited as an Anti-Semitic, and have denied those allegations, what better way to prove to all your fans and the nay Sayers -- than to endorse and help raise funds for our cause -- SOS, Save Our Synagogue."

"Mr. Gibson, we offer you to be a Mensch and make a sizable contribution to our cause."

A rep for the temple later clarified:

"We weren't trying to shame Mel Gibson into giving us money. We are approaching many celebrities and people of the community as well. We thought because of his situation he would be very much interested in supporting our cause."

Somehow, we doubt that!

But hey! It was worth a shot, right?

Guess you're just going to have to resort to a good, old fashioned bake sale!

The once upon a time dermatologist to the stars is in deep sh*t now! He's in $12 million worth of debt!!!

Having to reportedly borrow $150,000 from Carrie Fisher to even hire a good bankruptcy lawyer, Dr. Arnie Klein is also going to such lengths as selling items from the celebs he used to medicate.

At the Bonhams & Butterfields auction later this month, the hat that hid Michael Jackson when he exited a hospital burn unit will go up for $10,000.

MJ isn't the only one he got priceless items from, though. He'll also be auctioning off Elizabeth Taylor's eighth wedding invitation for $350 and Carrie's Princess Leia wig for $200.

Obviously this isn't even near enough to help him get out of his massive debt, but it's a start.

Always good to see people trying, we guess...

Between this news and that HIGHlarious SNL digital short, we gotta say we're impressed with Mr. Kilmer right now!

To recap...last December, Val Kilmer was in debt to the IRS for nearly $500K in unpaid federal taxes, even though he had JUST settled a different debt a few months before that!

Then back in October, we heard that he sold the majority of his New Mexico ranch for $18.5 million, despite the fact that his original asking price was $33 million.

Looks like he made the right move in selling that property, because Val has officially paid up all his debts to the IRS!

So, what'cha gonna do now that UR money problems are over, Val? Perhaps set up a meeting with Tom to see if U can get in on Top Gun 2????

What do U think? Could it be time for newly debt-free Val Kilmer to make a comeback???

Hey, any money is good money at this point, right, Chris??

As we told you, Chris Tucker is up to his ears in debt as he owes the IRS $11.5 million in back taxes.

One of his Florida homes was about to be taken away from him, but luckily, Chis was able to do negotiate a short sale just before the bank foreclosed on it.

He owed $4.4 million on the home, but the bank accepted a $2 million bid, which was a major score for the homebuyer who snatched it up, considering the home was worth about $6 million.

And in October, Chris sold his other Florida mansion for $1,050,000, still under the amount the home was worth.

Still not enough to pay off his IRS debt, but at least it's something!

Man, it's so sad that it's come to this, considering Chris was on top of his game back in the '90s.

But, hey, there's good news! A Friday sequel is back on! Chris needs that payday STAT!

She doesn't have any radio singles out right now, so Beyonce is churning out the videos!

Is it too much of a good thing, though????

B has just popped out another low-fi vid, this time for her song Party, featuring J. Cole.

It's a pleasant video. Nothing revolutionary.

Nice hair, makeup and fashion. And also nice to see cameos by Solange and Kelly Rowland.

Check it out (above)!

P.S. Who was Beyonce "inspired" by for this video???

This is the last thing she needs with a baby on the way. Girl, we thought you settled all your money problems. Let's hope she has a few tricks up her sleeve projects in development that will garner her a paycheck.

Fantasia is being sued for $25,000 by a collection company on behalf of U.S. Bank for allegedly owing them money. Neither side has come forward to explain any details about the lawsuit, but the U.S. Bank is very serious in pursuing it. That number reflects not only the money they seem to think is owed to them, but also 10% interest per year dating back to May 2009.

So you stiff them on a loan? Is that it? Either that or this is one hell of an overwithdrawl!

And he means it!

Last night, Jon Stewart took a crack at lighting a fire under Congress who are STILL at a stalemate over what to do about the nation's debt ceiling. Obama tried his hand at it earlier in the evening, but for some reason, we find Jon Stewart's approach to be just a tad more ... direct.

Check out the video (above) to see what we mean.

Pop the champagne! Sarah Ferguson is no longer in debt!

The former Duchess of York was bailed out by her ex-husband Prince Andrew, who ponied up the $3.2 million she owed to creditors.

In case you forgot, this is the same ex-husband she tried to sell access to last year and got caught -- on camera!

Wow. Guess Prince Andrew doesn't hold any grudges.

They've been warning us for years that it could happen.

The Postmaster General is using the debt talks in government to push the idea of doing away with Saturday delivery, and this time he thinks it'll stick. And it needs to -- it'll save the Post Office $3.1 billion a year.

Falling mail volume and soaring red ink may soon doom Saturday mail delivery and prompt three-day-a-week delivery within 15 years, Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe warns.

Donahoe's forecast is based on a projected $8.3 billion loss this year as the drift from paper to electronic communication hammers the Postal Service. "On Sept. 30," he told the USA TODAY editorial board Tuesday, "I won't be able to pay my bills."

Chief among them: a $5.5 billion payment due Sept. 30 to cover future retirees' health benefits.

The only issue we see about it is potentially not getting awesome magazines and birthday cards if the delivery happens to be on a Saturday. Otherwise, we think it's probably for the best. Ha!

Some people are worried about more rural areas though, where driving distances are an issue and the delivery of meds on Saturdays is an important thing. We agree that it's important, but, the U.S. mail is not the only delivery service out there, and rushes can be put on things as well.

Plus, according to the Postmaster, not much is delivered on Saturdays regardless.

Will U be hurt by them stopping Saturday delivery??

Utah's Republican Senator Orrin Hatch thinks the rich has already done enough to help the nation's debt, and it's time for the poor to help.

Hatch's comments (watch above) were in opposition of a motion that passed 74 to 22. Said motion will begin the debate on whether or not there should be a non-binding resolution demanding millionaires and billionaires to play a better role in reducing the country's debt.

Hatch believes the wealthy pay too much in taxes, even though their tax rates have been at modern lows since the Bush administration cut them down back in 2001 and 2003.

In his mind, the middle and lower classes should pay more even if they don't have more to give.

During his comments, he said he wished he could really let go on Obama but wouldn't because he likes him personally.

Well, at least he pulled back on going all middle school on our president. That's somewhat of a start right?

What do U think of his comments?
